The centre is based on the site of the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.peoplemakingplaces.org.uk\/places\/charnwood_history\/airfields.htm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">old WWII airfield<\/a>, used to train pilots in Bomber Command. Indeed, our house is part of the estate which comprised the officers&#8217; accommodation. Anyway, as well as doing supercar days on the tarmac bits of the airfield, they also have a gravel rally stage and a 4&#215;4 course. Copyright Haydn Williams 2011.<\/p><\/div>\n<p>I wasn&#8217;t inclined to stay in the rain and take photos of the supercars being driven slowly around the track by timid middle-aged men, but it would be good to head back at some point and shoot the track drivers doing the &#8216;experience a fast lap&#8217; sessions.
