Reinstalling Leopard meant setting that up again, and there were a few little tweaks from Tiger. In addition, I had enough trouble finding enough information to set it up originally, so hopefully this will help someone else in future. I guess these instructions are applicable to most phones, because nothing really needs doing on the phone, it&#8217;s all on the MacBook.<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Firstly, download modem scripts for your phone from Ross Barkman&#8217;s incredibly useful\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.taniwha.org.uk\/\" title=\"Ross Barkman's Home Page - Get modem scripts from here\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">web page<\/a>. Please, for the love of god, read the whole web page and the readme that comes with the scripts too.<\/li>\n<li>Copy the modem scripts to\u00a0<span style=\"font-family: 'Courier New'; font-size: 11px; line-height: 13px; white-space: pre\" class=\"Apple-style-span\">\/Library\/Modem Scripts.<\/span><\/li>\n<li>Open\u00a0<span style=\"font-family: 'Courier New'; font-size: 11px; line-height: 13px; white-space: pre\" class=\"Apple-style-span\">System Preferences<\/span>, and then the\u00a0<span style=\"font-family: 'Courier New'; font-size: 11px; line-height: 13px; white-space: pre\" class=\"Apple-style-span\">Network <\/span>panel.<\/li>\n<li>Create a new location if you want- I have one called &#8216;Mobile&#8217; (cunning, eh?)<\/li>\n<li>Click the <span style=\"font-family: 'Courier New'; font-size: 11px; line-height: 13px; white-space: pre\" class=\"Apple-style-span\">Bluetooth<\/span>\u00a0tab on the left-hand side.<\/li>\n<li>In the <span style=\"font-family: 'Courier New'; font-size: 11px; line-height: 13px; white-space: pre\" class=\"Apple-style-span\">Telephone<\/span>\u00a0field, type the APN for your telephone service provider (UK settings available on Ross&#8217; website\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.taniwha.org.uk\/gprs.html\" title=\"UK mobile network GPRS settings\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">here<\/a>).<\/li>\n<li>In the <span style=\"font-family: 'Courier New'; font-size: 11px; line-height: 13px; white-space: pre\" class=\"Apple-style-span\">User<\/span>\u00a0and <span style=\"font-family: 'Courier New'; font-size: 11px; line-height: 13px; white-space: pre\" class=\"Apple-style-span\">Password<\/span>\u00a0fields, type the appropriate information as per the page above.<\/li>\n<li>Click the <span style=\"font-family: 'Courier New'; font-size: 11px; line-height: 13px; white-space: pre\" class=\"Apple-style-span\">Advanced&lt;<\/span>\u00a0button, and select the <span style=\"font-family: 'Courier New'; font-size: 11px; line-height: 13px; white-space: pre\" class=\"Apple-style-span\">PPP<\/span>\u00a0tab. Change the <span style=\"font-family: 'Courier New'; font-size: 11px; line-height: 13px; white-space: pre\" class=\"Apple-style-span\">Settings<\/span>\u00a0dropdown to <span style=\"font-family: 'Courier New'; font-size: 11px; line-height: 13px; white-space: pre\" class=\"Apple-style-span\">Configuration<\/span>\u00a0and ensure that &#8216;<span style=\"font-family: 'Courier New'; font-size: 11px; line-height: 13px; white-space: pre\" class=\"Apple-style-span\">Send PPP echo packets<\/span>&#8216; isn&#8217;t checked.<\/li>\n<li>Select the <span style=\"font-family: 'Courier New'; font-size: 11px; line-height: 13px; white-space: pre\" class=\"Apple-style-span\">Modem<\/span>\u00a0tab.<\/li>\n<li>Choose <span style=\"font-family: 'Courier New'; font-size: 11px; line-height: 13px; white-space: pre\" class=\"Apple-style-span\">Other<\/span>\u00a0in the <span style=\"font-family: 'Courier New'; font-size: 11px; line-height: 13px; white-space: pre\" class=\"Apple-style-span\">Vendor<\/span>\u00a0dropdown, and your phone should then be listed in the <span style=\"font-family: 'Courier New'; font-size: 11px; line-height: 13px; white-space: pre\" class=\"Apple-style-span\">Model<\/span>\u00a0dropdown &#8211; choose it! Make sure that &#8216;<span style=\"font-family: 'Courier New'; font-size: 11px; line-height: 13px; white-space: pre\" class=\"Apple-style-span\">Enable error correction and compression in modem<\/span>&#8216; is ticked.<\/li>\n<li>Select the\u00a0<span style=\"font-family: 'Courier New'; font-size: 11px; line-height: 13px; white-space: pre\" class=\"Apple-style-span\">DNS<\/span> tab, and add the DNS servers for your network provider, again as per Ross&#8217;\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.taniwha.org.uk\/gprs.html\" title=\"UK GPRS settings\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">page<\/a>.<\/span><\/li>\n<li>Click\u00a0<span style=\"font-family: 'Courier New'; font-size: 11px; line-height: 13px; white-space: pre\" class=\"Apple-style-span\">OK<\/span>, and then\u00a0<span style=\"font-family: 'Courier New'; font-size: 11px; line-height: 13px; white-space: pre\" class=\"Apple-style-span\">Apply<\/span> once you&#8217;re back at the &#8216;Network&#8217; window.<\/span><\/span><\/li>\n<li>Click\u00a0<span style=\"font-family: 'Courier New'; font-size: 11px; line-height: 13px; white-space: pre\" class=\"Apple-style-span\">Connect <\/span>and bask in the glory of a reasonable internet connection anywhere you have &#8216;phone signal.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>That&#8217;s it!
