I realised a little while ago that I’ve been shooting gigs for over ten years now. In that time, I’ve never seen a room explode like the Bodega did earlier this year when the opening notes of PUP‘s set rang out. They had the crowd in the palm of their hand immediately, and deservedly so. If you ever get the chance to see them then you absolutely must not miss it.
As regards the photos themselves, it’s always difficult when there’s no pit and the crowd are rowdy. I quite like the conversion to black and white and the addition of the grittiness; it reminds me of old high-ISO film before dSLRs could shoot in the dark as if it were broad daylight. Not my finest work but a lovely reminder of an amazing set.
