Mountain Biking

Highlands and Islands

We seem to have settled into a pattern of having trips away around May each year, I think because the weather’s starting to perk up but places aren’t too busy. That was certainly the case as we headed to Aviemore for the first week of our Scottish trip last year (yes, it’s taken me 12 months to get around to writing this up!).

Other than weekends at bike parks, I’ve never done multi-day mountain biking. When the Trans-Cambrian Way was suggested I figured that it was time to correct that oversight. At somewhere north of 100 miles, with over 3,000m ascent, it was never going to be a pushover. But I’ve got an e-bike, so it should be reasonably simple, right?
